Namco Bandai Shows Off the Gorn and More at GamesCom 2012 by Trek fm

We’re inching closer to the release of the Abramsverse video game for PC and consoles, and developer Namco Bandai has released new footage as part of GamesCom 2012 in Cologne, Germany. In the last trailer we learned that the Gorn would be making an appearance, and in this new footage we can see the reptilian challengers in all their glory. (Albeit Enterprise-inspired glory.)

In addition, we get to see many more environments than in past previews, revealing the depth of gameplay that awaits fans eager to take on the rolls of Kirk and Spock in this cooperative adventure.

Originally announced during Sony’s keynote address at last year’s E3, this officially licensed title for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Windows PC will be available in early 2013. Each new trailer reveals more and more, and with the way things are shaping up players are in for an incredible gaming experience.

Check out the trailer below and whet your appetite for some Gorn hunting.

Watch the E3 Demo of Star Trek Console Games Co-op Feature by Trek fm

As we inch our way closer to 2013, we not only have the next Star Trek movie by J.J. Abrams to look forward to but also a new console game inspired by 2009 reboot.

Originally announced during Sony’s keynote address at last year’s E3, this officially licensed title for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Windows PC will be available in early 2013.

And at this year’s E3, developer Digital Extremes showed off side-by-side screens that demonstrated the co-op action in the game. With one player filling the shoes of Kirk and the other donning the pointy ears of Spock, friends can battle it out to see who gets Uhura’s hugs.

No wait. Friends can work together to defeat the enemy and make everything right with the universe. At least the alternate one.

The game looks amazing and is shaping up to be perhaps the best Star Trek experience ever on a console or PC.
